April Showers Bring May Flowers

One of the first quilt books I ever bought was Little Bits Quilting Bee by Kathreen Ricketson. It was, and still is, my quilting bible and I love all of her patterns.

I dove into this book head-first and, after two other quilts that I made as gifts, I made this quilt for personal use. I used a rainbow/flower theme and have always called this quilt April Showers Bring May Flowers.

I kept this quilt and it is now Ava's quilt, gracing the bed (or the couch) whenever she wants to cuddle. It shows how my craftsman ship has grown and how I learned more as a quilter. My squares are almost perfectly matched together and I learned applique with the raindrops and clouds. I also picked out all of the fabrics for this quilt myself, and I still enjoy the selection I chose.
